With a stage win for Jonas Vingegaard and two second places for David Dekker, Team Jumbo-Visma is off to a flying start of the 2021 season. We have some images and background information on both young riders that have performed so well in the first couple of stages lined up for you.

Jonas Vingegaard

Jonas Vingegaard was born on December 10th 1996 making him 24yrs old. The talented Danish rider joined team Jumbo-Visma in 2019 feels very much at home in the Dutch team and has repeatedly confirmed he can’t imagine any other team that would fit him better.

The climbing specialist managed to finish first in the stage to Jebel Jais, the 20km long final climb was the executioner in today’s stage and Jonas was able to drop Alexey Lutsenko in the final kilometer. Tadej Pogacar finished second. Below you can watch a short clip of Jonas talking about his 2021 goals and race program.

David Dekker

With two second places during his debut in the pro peloton, David Dekker has all eyes on him during the upcoming races. David made a big impression with his second place in the first stage but the result in the fourth stage of the UAE Tour maybe was even more impressive. With it being a relatively calm day, Dekker was able to show his strength in the fast finale.

The 23yr old Dutchman was born on February second in 1998, with his 1.89M he isn’t one of the shorter riders in the peloton! That the training camp in Spain paid off is clear, let’s hope Erik Dekker’s (former Rabobank pro) son settles in nicely and maybe he’ll be able to secure a win in one of the next races.

March 5th, we will be launching a product that is co-developed with the team and used during the UAE Tour. Keep an eye on our social channels for more information.
