Winter is when pro-teams lay the foundation for the cycling season. Team Jumbo-Visma has just returned from a training camp in Alicante and is planning to be on Tenerife during February. With Primoz Roglic not joining due to a COVID-19 infection in his immediate surroundings and Tom Dumoulin deciding to take a break, it was an eventful trip to say the least!

During the training camp we did some final product tests. Early March you’ll see what we have been working on. For now, enjoy these pictures!

Tom Dumoulin in the midst of his teammates. Let’s hope he starts to feel better soon and finds back his joy in being a pro cyclist, only time can tell.

Even though the conditions were quite sunny most of the time, wet lube is still a favorite for the mechanics and riders. ‘Stickier’ lubes stay on the chain just a little bit longer and therefore better protect against the corrosive salty sea air.

Hopefully Steven Kruijswijk will be luckier this season. In 2020, he had to pass on the Tour de France due to his crash in the Dauphiné, he’ll get another shot this season. Later in 2021, the Vuelta is on his schedule; a top 3 result might be within reach!

During the assembly of the new Cervélo bikes, the team mechanics got their hands on the final version of the Assembly Paste Pro for the first time. Now they don’t go anywhere without a big jar in their toolbox.

At the training camp in Alicante, Wout van Aert signed his new contract. Since his magnificent season in 2020 and an outstanding performance in the Tour as well, we must say we weren’t so sure about that. I guess one of the best riders belongs with the best team, right?

With a stage win in the Daupiné and the important role Sepp Kuss played during the Tour, his ambitions for 2021 are not to be overlooked. Sepp hopes to be the team captain during the Tour of Catalunya or maybe even the Vuelta. Let’s hope his performance during the Tour de France this year will be equally as impressive as in 2020. In any case, we are big Sepp fans at Dynamic!

With the extension of Tony Martins contract which was signed in August of 2020, we are assured of another year of ‘Der Pantzerwagen’. The natural leader plays a key role in the teambuilding process, the amount of experience (and sheer power) he brings to the team is invaluable.

Hopefully, the conditions will be equally as good in February when the team travels to Tenerife for an altitude camp.

Robert Gesink’s season will start with the Strade Bianche. He will be going to the Tour de France and the Vuelta once again! Surely, Robert will play a key role in supporting the captains in both major multiple stage races.

Just a few more weeks before we’ll reveal what is in this secretive bottle. The team has performed final tests in Alicante, and we are working hard to make sure the product is available before the season really starts. Keep an eye on our socials for sneak peaks over the coming weeks.
